Our students prepared a wonderful exhibition showing the history of automobile vehicles.
Did you know that Karl Benz invented the first car in 1885? Yes, it’s true. And it was really revolutionary, because it was the first car with a gas engine. Before that, people tried to make cars as well, but they used steam. It cost only $1,000 to build this car. What is interesting about this car is that it had only three wheels and it weighed about 100 kilograms. It was very light! Since that time people have tried to make better and better cars. Come to our school library to learn more about the history of cars.

Girl: Hi Timmy. What are your plans for this summer?
Boy: We are going to Malta.
Girl: How nice! I have never been there!
Boy: I was there once with my parents but we took a package holiday. This time we are planning everything with my friends.
Girl: That’s exciting. Have you already bought plane tickets?
Boy: Yes, we have.
Girl: How are you going to get to the airport?
Boy: Not sure yet. It is possible that we will take a train. Maybe my uncle will drive us there in his car.
Girl: Ah good.
Boy: Yes, we will find a way. In Malta we are going to use public transport. Their buses go to all the places we want to visit.
Girl: That’s really great! Are you going to visit Gozo island?
Boy: Maybe. You can easily get there by ferry. And then you can rent a bike and go wherever you want.
Girl: Sounds amazing! When exactly are you going?
Boy: Right after the school year ends!
Girl: Great! Take me with you next time!
Boy: Sure, I will!

Hi Rony! I’m sorry but I can’t come to your party on Friday. When I was riding my bike yesterday, I fell and broke my leg. I can’t walk and I should take some rest. There’s nothing I can do. I am sure we will meet soon, though. Maybe you could visit me? I am going to be at home all the time. Let me know if you are free on the weekend. Bye!

Max: Hi Tom!
Tom: Hi Max!
Max: What do you have there?
Tom: Ah, this? This is a certificate. I got it today.
Max: What is it for?
Tom: Well, our school has participated in a Green School project this semester.
Max: Wow, I haven’t heard of that. What activities have you done?
Tom: We had to do tasks in three months. First, we took care of our neighbourhood.
Max: Did you do a street clean-up too?
Tom: Yes, we did. We also planted some trees and collected money to buy new trash bins.
Max: That sounds interesting.
Tom: Yes, a lot of people helped us.
Max: What did you do in the second month?
Tom: We focused on recycling. Our teacher organized a meeting with a man who is passionate about being green. He told us about things we can recycle and how to do it.
Max: What about last month?
Tom: I think it was the best part of the project.
Max: Why?
Tom: We had a school picnic and prepared activities and games to show our parents and friends what we all can do to help our environment.
Max: What do you mean?
Tom: For example, how to save electricity or water. One of my friends organized an exchange clothes shop.
Max: An exchange clothes shop?
Tom: Yes. The idea was to exchange the clothes you don’t wear with somebody else. We don’t shop wisely.
Max: I am really impressed. So now, this is the end of your activities?
Tom: Absolutely not. We will do much more. We will prepare an eco-friendly school plan next week. Do you think your school could do it with us?
Max: I don’t know, but I will ask my teacher tomorrow.
Tom: Sounds great!
